There is an often missed treasure right in the Children’s Zoo.  What is it?  The Naturally Wild Swap Shop!

There are lots of wonderful trades to be made in the Swap Shop

Help your child nurture their wonder of nature in a very hands on way.  The Swap shop is located at the front of the Children’s Zoo and is designed for kids 18 years old and younger to bring in things they find in nature.  Not things they find at the Zoo as we want to really get them out in nature.  They are given points for the items they bring in and then can spend their points in the shop.  If they have learned about the item they bring in they can also earn additional points for knowledge!

The items to choose from when spending their points provide something for everyone.  Bones, fossils, rocks, minerals, shells, gemstones and more.

There was recently an interesting guest in the Swap Shop -  Walt Whittington from Dinosaurs Rock Texas came in after the Zoo event, Donuts and Dinos.

Dinosaurs Rock Texas is a way to bring the museum to you.  Not only have they been involved in this summer long series with the Zoo, they offer some amazing party packages where kids can have their own dino dig.
